The seventh edition of "Gynecological Operations," by Prof. Heinrich Martius, is the latest and best edition of what has become the preeminent continental work of pelvic surgery in women. The first English translation appeared in 1939 under the editorial supervision of the late W. A. Newman Dorland.
The present translation, under the editorship of Dr. Milton L. McCall and Dr. Karl A. Bolten, presents all the valuable features of the older work as well as a large amount of new material. The book presents chapters describing all the common gynecological operations.
Each operation is described in a step-by-step detail, and in addition there are excellent illustrations depiciting the important features of each operative procedure. One important feature is that the topographic anatomy and relationship are beautifully illustrated.
