ABSTRACT

The March 1951 issue of Medical Clinics of North America contains both a symposium on the diseases of the skin and a symposium in honor of Dr. William Sharp McCann.

The symposium on the diseases of the skin gives the physician the present day concepts and newer methods of treatment of a few of the common lesions of the skin that are not of a serious nature but are frequently misinterpreted and mistreated. The papers present an evaluation of the antibiotics and antihistaminics in the treatment of lesions of the skin and discuss recent advances in the management of several diseases of the skin which have significant systemic manifestations. Dr. Paul O'Leary is the consulting editor in charge of this section, and, as he says in the foreword, the contributors all have had a large experience with the diseases about which they write.
