As one might suspect from the subtitle of this book, it is not altogether easy reading. The reviewer must admit that there are sentences and even paragraphs which he cannot understand at all. This is, however, no criticism of the book, since the language of psychopathology seems obscure to many readers who have not made a special study of the subject, and even psychiatrists themselves differ in their views.
Consciousness, memory, thought, emotion, etc., are at best difficult subjects, and even though all is not made entirely clear this is a readable and interesting book.
