The author has not included every new phase of therapy in this edition, but has made a selection of the subjects that are well established by careful research or are in use by the leaders in the various fields. Among those included are the administration of salyrgan, the feeding of a stomach extract in pernicious anemia, the use of Calmette's tuberculin, the treatment for undulant fever and the chemistry of the thyroid action.
