This year's annual is no exception to any of the preceding numbers. It is well condensed and unusually complete considering the amount of subject material to be covered. For the internist, the recent advances in diabetes and peptic ulcers are especially interesting. Various conditions that may be relieved by periarterial sympathectomy are discussed. Treatment for lobar pneumonia with Felton's concentrated antipneumococcus serum is mentioned in a large series of cases. The treatment for gonorrheal arthritis is thoroughly discussed. As a whole, there are few fields of any importance that have been omitted, including advances in public health. Perhaps the most important feature is in the field of current therapy, which one rarely finds so completely covered in a single volume. As a reference work for the physician, it has its most useful place.
