To the Editor The recent study by Pan et al1(p1334) contains the disclaimer “Since our study is observational in nature, causality cannot be inferred.” The authors nonetheless infer that their “results add further evidence that limiting red meat consumption over time confers benefits for T2DM [type 2 diabetes mellitus] prevention.”1(p1328)
